You have probably heard this before, but you may not actually know how to teach your dog how to give you a pat on the back. However, if you have a dog that is good with children and you want to show your love and appreciation to your family members and friends, then you can always make this very simple process a lot easier.

Teach Your Dog How To Give You A Paw

First of all, when it comes to dogs and children, you need to keep in mind that they are not always the same size. So when it comes to teaching your dog how to give you a pat on the back, you need to make sure that your canine does not grow to be quite too large for your little one. Even if your canine is pretty large, there are still things that you can do to make sure that your little one does not end up being hurt.

The first thing that you can do when it comes to training your pet dog to give you a pat on the back is to get a stuffed dog. Once your canine has been given a stuffed dog, you should take him out into the yard and just let him explore the area for about half an hour. You do not need to put any kind of a barrier between the two of you so that your pet will not feel pressured into giving you a pat on the back. You need to make sure however that your canine has enough space to roam around and explore.

Once you have made the toy available for your dog, you should now begin to move your canine around the yard with him in a positive manner. You need to try to praise your canine as he does what you ask him to do. It is important to remember though that praising your canine can be easy to do, if you can do it calmly and in a loving way. If you can do this while having a big smile on your face, then you have already shown your canine how much you appreciate his behavior. This is not something that should ever be done aggressively however.

In order to really get your canine to learn this trick, you need to work with him for a long time on this training. It is best to do this with a group of your canine friends and then as you become more comfortable with your canine, you can start to introduce your canine to another person that you know and trust.

There are many different tricks and commands that you can teach your dog on how to give you a pat on the back such as ‘sit’, ‘stay’, and ‘down’. If you have a dog that already understands these commands, then you can easily teach him the other ones too.
