Why this tool?
This guided planning tool helps higher education faculty and instructional designers build or redesign assignments along the continuum from traditional/disposable to authentic, constructionist, and renewable. It helps you make practical decisions about sharing, privacy, and licensing without getting overwhelmed.
The builder will help you generate a markdown AI prompt you can paste into ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini. That prompt asks the AI to create or redesign an assignment that follows the format and matches the choices you make in this tool.
Human review still matters. This tool helps you draft a stronger prompt, but any AI-generated output still needs to be read, vetted, revised, and approved by the instructor before it is published, shared, or given to students.
