Spearfishing is essentially bow hunting underwater. It is neither easy to master or cheap to get into and it’s more addictive than crack. If you want to get clean, ethical and non-industrial protein that doesn’t have any hormones, pesticides, or antibiotics and you don’t mind wearing life support equipment to “go shopping” – this might be for you. We offer charters for very experienced divers that want to spearfish as well as closely supervised Introduction to Spearfishing classes where we teach you the basics and guide you on a spearfishing dive.

St. Andrews State Park's jetties offer some of the best beach diving on the Emerald Coast. The channel side of St. Andrews State Park's west jetty is 70 feet deep in some spots. The rocks are home to a variety sea life including red snapper, redfish and grouper. It doesn't get better if you dive just in time to catch the incoming tide.

Adventure

It seems that during this summer a writer from Sport Diver took an excursion on one of our boats and was so impressed, he/she wrote a great little article about us and the great diving off Panama City Beach.

Equipment

Scuba Dive Panama City Beach has a maximum of 14 scuba divers per trip to ensure that everyone feels comfortable. We offer two trips per day, and all charters are open to the general public.

Scuba Divers

Our threshold for off-shore diving is 8 miles from St Andrew's Pass. These locations require advanced certification. Nitrox certification would be a good idea. Because of the distance involved, these trips do not run every day. To find out when the next trip will be running, you can check with the dive shop. You might also want to plan a trip together with qualified friends.

Panama City Beach is a seriously good vacation destination and dive destination wrapped into one. The fact that you can drive here from so many places makes it that much better. Divers of all experience levels will find plenty of reasons to keep coming back again and again, and their families will love them for it.

Diver

We offer Technical Scuba Training Classes at TDI. Technical Divers dive beyond recreational diving. This may mean diving deeper, longer and higher up, as well as using more exotic gas mixes to help with narcosis. If you are an experienced diver and want to reach the depths of a pool, this is the right place for you. This is how it happens. We have Intro To Tech, Advanced Nitrox or Deco Procedures, Trimix or Advanced Trimix available. We have everything you need for fun, expert-level classes that use top quality gear at full price.

Frequently Asked Questions

Never hold your breath

As every good entry-level dive student knows, this is the most important rule of scuba. And for good reason — breath holding underwater can result in serious injury and even death. In accordance with Boyle's law, the air in a diver's lungs expands during ascent and contracts during descent.

As you become a qualified scuba diver, you learn the basics of an essential scuba system. A cylinder, weights, an exposure suit, regulators, BCD gauge and timing device, mask and fins are the bare essentials.
