Manual coping is a manual process that involves every step, from reading and transferring dimensions to measuring and framing the beams, using a handheld torch, and then cutting them with a torch. Manual coping can be labor-intensive and requires significant grinding or chipping to achieve the desired results. Human error can also occur regarding angles, finish and dimensions. These inefficiencies increase operational costs and lower profits.

Mac-Tech offers a wide range of machines for the metal fabrication industry, including beam drilling and robotic plasma cutters. Some of our structural steel cutting machines or CNC beam drilling machinery may do more than the PCR41 and PCR42, but you can be sure that each piece of steel fabrication machinery we list here will satisfy your structural beam coping, drilling, and other needs.

MSI, also referred to as Multi System Integration, opens the door to fully automate your production by connecting machines with cross transports, roller conveyors, product buffers, and material sensors. Production data only needs to be imported once and then MSI automatically distributes the data to all machines integrated in your production system.

We also offer service on all structural steel fabrication machines, including beam-coping machines. To schedule a service, please contact us.

Voortman V808 robotic thermal cutting machine is market-leading and versatile. It has 8-axis to process wide profiles up to 1.250mm (50") in width. Combining the robot's flexibility with its machine structure, the machine can cut any 3D shape and mark every side of your material. This system not only allows for greater flexibility in designing and producing complex structures, but also significantly increases production speed. Voortman V808 can do it all: copes, slot holes, bolt holes and slots, as well as layout marking and weld preparation.

Rat holes, seismic connection (jay–allan or dog bone connections), copes in the lead and trail ends of a product. Block outs, holes of any shape or size, weld preps, markings on all four sides and much more. VoortmanV808 can work on all four sides using only one robot. It is the most versatile machine currently available. All profiles and cuts can be made without any programming required.

The integrated VACAD Editor allows your operators to quickly improve product quality and create new products. The interface is easy-to-understand and offers straightforward functionality. After working with Voortman trainers, operators will be able take full advantage the VACAD Editor/VACAM.

Rat holes, seismic design connections (jayallan and dogbone connections), copes at either the trail or lead end of a product's product, block outs and holes of any size or shape, weld preparations and marking on all four side, and many more! The Voortman V808 is the most versatile machine available. It can process all four sides with one robot. The software can do all the cuts and profiles shown in the video without the need for programming.

Mac-Tech is a distributor of a variety structural steel cutting machines, robotic laser cutters, beam drilling, beam coping, and beam drilling equipment that can be used by businesses in the metal fabricating industry. Some of the beam coping machines, CNC beam drilling and structural steel cutters we offer may do more, such as the PCR41, PCR42. You can however rest assured that all of the machinery listed here for structural steel fabrication will be able to meet your structural beam coping needs.

R Robotics

The PCR42 robotic plasma cutting machine does beam coping, notches, holes and weld preps, splits beams, and scribes plus marks on all four faces of H-beams, channels, angles, HSS and plates.

Full automatic profile transportation is provided in order to integrate the machine to a fully automatic MSI beam line. Our/The VACAM software controls the sensored drag-dogs or liftables, transporting profiles onto the infeed roller conveyor and from the outfeed roller conveyor. Selected products will automatically be produced out of the trading lengths. The cross-transports are able to handle multiple profiles, allowing the machine to operate autonomously for a considerable amount of time.

VACAM allows your operators to have a simple and intuitive interface. This will allow for consistent and efficient production. VACAM's main feature is its clear separation of production, work preparation, and manual operation activities. The required data and functions are readily available for each mode, allowing you to carry out tasks in the correct environment. VACAM Control software, which is known for its visual representation of your entire production process, is a well-known industry tool. VACAM software gives you an easy overview of the entire process, including production status. It also allows for instant access to online assistance, if necessary.

The V808 roller feed measurement and clamping system locks profiles in exact position and maintains alignment throughout processing. This fully automatic measuring roller feed system is the fastest positioning system as it does not require a pusher or gripper to return home before loading the next piece saving hours each week. Voortman’s roller feed system can operate with full automation within a standard range of profile processing when using Voortman’s automated in-feed cross transports, with enough stability and support to properly position and process beams up to 15.000 kg (33,000 lbs).

Frequently Asked Questions

A 10-foot I-beam of steel will cost $60-$180, while a 40 foot beam will cost between $240-$720.

Price of 30 ft lvl beam: The average cost/price of LVL is $3-$12 per linear foot. For 30 ft. lvl beam price, 30x3 = $90, 30x12 = $360. This means that 30 ft. lVL beam, Laminated veneer lumber, or Engineered beam costs between $50 and $200 for materials, or between $90 and $360 for installation.

Douglas fir is perhaps the strongest of all wood beams. Although there may be a stronger wood, I don't know of any. Lumber mills today make beams in the same way as plywood. To make extremely strong structural engineered timbers, they use layers of solid wood that have been glued together.

Cladding is usually made up of thin slabs of about 3cm thickness with a front finish and placed on the walls. Copings come in different thicknesses and are located at the top of walls.
