Plasterer

The tools of a plasterer include the hawk. It is a small rectangular board for plastering brickwork or making point. The hawk is a good hand tool because it prevents plaster from spilling onto your hands when you are using your trowel. Another tool used by plasterers is the "pointing hawk", which applies small amounts of mortar on to the wall.

Plasterers are often in dusty, dirty environments. They must use protective gear to shield their eyes and skin. However, plasterers may still get hurt despite their safety gear. Most common injuries are muscle strains from lifting heavy plasters. Some plasterers may also be injured by falling from ladders.
