Shell Island is home for a large population of bottlenose Dolphins. On one of our Panama City Beach Dolphin Tours, you can see these magnificent marine mammals in their natural habitat.
St. Andrew Bay dolphins are wild animals. It is not possible to predict when the best time to view them. Dolphin behavior can be affected by weather conditions, tide cycles, water temperatures, tides, and availability. You can see dolphins almost any time there is sun and water clarity. Feeding activities are usually seen on an outgoing tide. The best option is to go with a dolphin tour operator, such as Panama City Beach Dolphin Tours. They are usually on the water almost every day.

A large number of bottlenose dolphins live in the waters surrounding Shell Island. One of our Panama City Beach Dolphin Tours will take you to see these incredible marine mammals in their natural habitat.
We will get you in the water before they arrive. This will make it more likely that the dolphins swim to us, rather than to us. Blue Dolphin Tours is smaller than larger boats, which can carry as many as 150 people. We only have 6 passengers (children and adults included). You can be in the water quickly with your snorkel gear on without any disruptions or splashing that large groups often cause, which can sometimes scare the dolphins away. For larger groups of up to 30 people, we have five identical boats. We limit the number to six per boat. A large family blue dolphin for up to 15 people is also available. No pets are allowed on the boats.
Florida law prohibits dolphin swimming and feeding. Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission officers are present on the water to ensure these rules are adhered to. If you are lucky enough to encounter dolphins, they may approach your tour boat very close, providing you with a fantastic view and great photo opportunity. Shell Island Snorkel Tours are a great option if you want to see wild dolphins in the sea. The dolphins can sometimes swim right next to snorkelers.
Shell Island, St Andrews Bay and the Gulf of Mexico are exciting and new experiences every time you visit. The whole family can enjoy snorkeling in the shallows and grass flats of the island. For a personalized wildlife adventure, we offer both small-group and private tours. This tour offers it all! Family fun is our specialty and we have been doing it for more than 30 years.
Enjoy a wonderful dolphin encounter with our four different interactive swimming with dolphins programs, where you'll be able to play and swim with the cutest marine animal that ever existed. You only need to choose your favorite and have fun.
The best time to see and swim with dolphins is in the early part of the morning when they are feeding. You might also go out later in the day before the sun sets. You can spot dolphins at any time of day, really, but less traffic makes them easier to spot.
