This course covers the equipment and skills for technical sidemount diving including both classroom workshops and three days of in-water skills development.
Our courses are taught in an open-water environment. The lake provides a stable and predictable teaching environment, which is not affected negatively by the weather issues that might be encountered if we were to train at an ocean location.
Sidemount Diver's new course materials are time-saving for instructors and retailers. They don't have to search through multiple sources to put together the course materials, nor do they have to spend the time to create their own exams, quizzes and other teaching tools. They don't have to explain to customers and students why eLearning isn't available for this course.
This course covers technical sidemount diving skills and equipment. It includes classroom workshops as well as three days of in-water skill development.
Tech Sidemount skills include gas switching, gas management, gas switching staged ascents and valve drills.
Our teaching philosophy is simple, We are mentors first, instructors second. We don’t only teach diving, we are out there doing the dives. We are here to answer your questions and act as a resource for you. We may not know every answer, but we will direct you to someone who can help you. We want to help you grow your diving experience and knowledge. When choosing an instructor, make sure that instructor hasn’t just paid for an instructor rating and been given the rating. Make sure that instructor has current experience diving what he/she is teaching.
We believe that diving training should include more than learning how to deal with any problems. Although that is an important part, we also ensure you are competent enough to dive once you have completed your training. This is true of all our courses from Open Water to the Technical. Not only will you learn how to survive in the water, but also how to dive. You won't always be able dive in an area where you can get to your knees in case of an emergency. You must be able to handle any issues in the water. We teach this.
Don't grab animals, don't hold them for photo ops, don't go for rides on dolphins or turtles, and don't force puffer fish to inflate (it can be fatal to them).
