Book a private tour with your group. Private charters allow you to extend your private dolphin tour by adding additional time (from 2 to 3 hours), to include additional snorkeling locations, island time, and so on. Six passengers can be accommodated on a boat. The captain will show you how to get into the water and observe the dolphins in their natural habitat. Florida's wild dolphins can not be swam with. According to Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, it is against federal legislation to harass wild dolphins. Also, dolphins are more susceptible to being hurt in interactions with humans when they swim with people.
Under the Marine Mammal Protection Act, swimming with spinner dolphins at rest could be considered "harassment." This Act prohibits any act that could disrupt the behavior of a marine mammal by causing torment, harassment, or other nuisances.
