Starfish, bay scallops (with sand dollars), whelks, starfish up to 21 inches in length, conchs with a maximum length of 21 inches, seahorses, urchins, hermit crabs, and other crab species are some of the species we often see. These animals can easily be brought to the surface, photographed, and handled with care. So that anyone can view them, even those who are not snorkers, we bring large containers. Any shells found with no living creatures can be taken home.

We will be departing Historic Grand Lagoon to take a relaxing, 25-minute trip out to Shell Island, where we'll snorkel. You should be looking out for dolphins or other sea animals as they are in their natural habitats. Our boat will dock in the Gulf of Mexico. Shell Island is the next stop. There you can snorkel, find seashells, learn about the marine life around the area, or simply relax and take in the sunshine. You can also explore the shallows of Shell Island and hunt for shells.
