Voortman can open DXF files, and can process 3-D shapes provided the steel is properly detailed. Some of these rules might not apply to what you are currently detailing. This may mean that some adjustments might be required. This is not as easy as using 3-D modeling software.

Processing

Voortman can upload a cope profile to the CNC software via the built in shape library or CAD. This user-friendly interface allows you to calibrate cutting tolerances manually, nest parts for the coping and track robotic cutting paths so any errors can be avoided. Voortman can begin perfecting his work by simply loading the material into the computer and pressing the start key.

The APC 1200 is an upgraded version of the APC 1200. The combination plasma and oxy fuel cutting features are available with both torches mounted on pivoting heads. The computers will control the flipping of one to the other in less than a second, so you don't have to do any manual work. To maximize efficiency, the machine is operated primarily using the Plasma. The machine is preprogrammed so that it automatically switches to the Oxy Fuel if the material thickness exceeds the Plasma's cutting capabilities. The upgraded unit includes laser probing to adjust the height automatically.

These features were designed to increase cut precision and are not available on all beam coping machines. Voortman includes them as standard.

The Voortman requires roller conveyors to move the steel through the machine. Gulf States Saw & Machine Co. supplies a modular system made specifically for the machine. This modular system is called the Ocean Eliminator and features in-feed and out-feed powered roller conveyors, as well as powered lift and carry cross transfers.
