How To Drill Through A Beam

Cnc Beam Drill Line Repair

As customers often bring a few pieces of steel with holes or layout marks, we train the operator to use Peddimat.

With its strong material handling support and precise measurement capabilities, the Advantage-2 CNC beam drill is perfect for tandem installations with any Voortman automated sawing system.

Let's look at Twist Drill Bits versus Insert Drill Bits in a real-world fabrication situation. Let's just focus on one example: 13/16" (22mm), which is the most common drilled hole diameter.

Programming the CNC Beam Drill Line is very simple and intuitive even for operators with no CNC or computer experience.

Beam Drill Lines

The CNC Beam Drill Line can not only lay out and drill your holes in any kind of steel profile in a fraction as long as it takes you to do manually using a mag drill but also marks your welded attachments. This eliminates the need for tape measures.

Advantage-2 carbide drill line uses automatic tool changing technology, completely electronic ball screw-feed spindle motion, and fully electronic ball screws feed spindle. These combined with Voortman’s outstanding build quality and design make the Advantage-2 carbide drill line an ideal combination of strength and agility.

Automation

The programming of the CNC Beam Drill Line can be done even manually. Peddimat is the machine programming software and most operators can program most parts within less than an hour. Of course practice makes perfect. The best way to program the machine, however, is to import parts from a CAD drawing, preferably created in 3-D modeling software like ProSteel 3D or StruMis. These files can be imported directly into the machine. The operator simply selects the part and presses the Cycle Start button.

CNC Beam Drill Line is specifically designed for fabricators or general job shops who need to drill holes through steel profiles of all kinds. The following questions can help you decide if this machine is right for your needs.

Voortman CNC Beam Drill Lines are often part of a Drill Saw Line combination or larger fully integrated production lines. These are also known as Multi System Integration. Read more below!

It may be between a Vertical Machining Centre or a CNC Router when deciding on the CNC machinery that you want to buy. These two pieces of equipment can be used for different purposes. Which one should you choose?

Our beam drill line machines feature central lubrication and linear guides. This ensures smooth operation and less maintenance. Each coordinate system has a 4-station tool changer that allows it to drill, mill and scribe as well as counter sink or tap. It can also swap tools mid-operation without any disruption. The positive beam positioning system consists of an arm attached on the feed conveyor to a rack-and-pinion system. This allows the beam to be positioned more precisely as it passes through the drill line.

"..We have drilled approximately 25.000 holes since we purchased our CNC Beam Drill Line four months ago. It used to take us 5 minutes to drill each hole. It now takes us approximately. It takes us 30 seconds per hole... that's a savings of 1875 hours over 4 months. This is equivalent to $84,375 in our shop. This machine will pay off in less than a year, as you can see. It not only speeds up production but also frees up space for more jobs.

Frequently Asked Questions

The shorter beam will therefore be stronger for the same load. To compare beam strengths as the length changes, it takes more than the section modulus.

Concrete beams can be strengthened with steel reinforcement rods. A beam is subject to tension at the bottom and compression at its top. Concrete is strong enough to withstand great compression but very fragile when it experiences tension.

THE STANDARD SIZE FOR THE BEAMS It is 9" x 12" or 225mm x 300mm in a residential building, according to (IS codes).

The width/depth ratio (W/D), is the ratio of the bankfull bankfull width to the average depth of the bankfull canal. This ratio is crucial for understanding how energy is distributed within a channel and how sediment can be moved by various discharges.

To replace the drilling wire wrapped around the traveling block and crown block. To prevent fatigue-related drilling line failure, drilling line work is limited and closely monitored.
