Peddimat's interface is simple and intuitive. You can learn it in under an hour even if your computer skills are not the best.

Advantage-2 utilizes a number of support clamps to maintain the maximum rigidity of the workpiece. Carbide tools last longer if there is as little vibration as possible.

"..In an attempt to meet customer requirements and increase output, we have built a new beam drill system. The lower labor cost and quicker turnaround times have resulted in us landing high-quality jobs.

Voortman service technicians do not often have to be present on your machine to address any issues you may have. Voortman technicians will be able operate your control with an internet connection. Voortman equipment features a Powerful Windowsr-based Siemens control. This allows for superior diagnostics and allows for increased productivity.

An attachment that marks 4-axis locations eliminates human error during manual layout. Even after painting blasting or galvanizing, the part information is still retained.

The CNC Drill Line can import DXF files and can use them to process 3-D shapes as long as the steel is detailed according to specific rules. Some of these rules might be different to the way you are detailing at the moment and might require some adjustment. This process is not nearly as seamless as the 3-D modeling software solutions above.

Voortman has shaped today’s CNC beam drill line standard with time-tested technology. The Advantage-2 processes an average of 150 tons of steel per work week with the most efficient drilling, milling, scribing, tapping and countersinking operations.

We at GSS Machinery are often asked by our customers what drill bits should they use – twist drill bits or insert bits? Our number one agenda is to ensure that our customers pursue the lowest cost per hole drilled, as this will make them more competitive and profitable. However it is important that they fully understand their options, Insert Drill Bit (Spade Drill Bit ) Advantages

The Advantage-2 carbide drill line utilizes automatic tool changing technology and completely electronic ball screw feed spindle motion. This combined with Voortman' renowned build quality and mechanical design provide the ultimate combination of agility and strength.

Z-Reader Probe- This probe maps the surface's location. It can be operated manually and programmatically. The option is removed from danger and is not active while the cutting process is underway. It can be used for surface mapping or to verify surface at each point before the cutting process begins. It is responsible for initialization, or zeroing the device on the surface at beginning of a program. From there it tracks the difference or accumulates them.

“.. Although this machine is marketed for the Structural fabricators, I knew immediately it would work well for drilling truck frames. The accuracy & repeatability have ensured the assembly without error. The Avenger drills a set of channels for one truck in less than one 2 hours; when we did this manually, it would take 16 hours. This machine has increased our productivity & profitability hands down!..”

Continuous production? Check. You can check. The ability to process a profile in record time with triple-axis drilling and milling is possible thanks to the use of three axes. High-speed Siemens spindle motors of 25 horsepower provide industry-leading hole penetration speeds. Additionally, each drilling axis employs ball screw feed positioning. The drill line boasts an advanced clamping system specifically designed to reduce vibrations. Extreme accuracy? Check.

GSS Machinery staff and personnel have been a tremendous support to me. Without them, I believe we wouldn't be in the position we find ourselves in in the steel fabricating markets.

Renishaw 5-Axis Calibration - This calibration unit is a Renishaw model APCA45, with a modified spherical tip. To remove dust and debris during activation, the device comes with a retractable cover. It attaches to a swing arm that is controlled by a pneumatic motor. This allows it to be out of the way during normal operation, and then swings into the calibration position.

Frequently Asked Questions

Channels, or C-beams, are used when the flat back side of the web is mounted to another flat surface. This allows for maximum contact. Sometimes they are welded back-to-back to create a non-standard I beam.

Manufacturers limit beams to 60 feet due to transport issues. Others can make beams up to 80 feet long. The longest supported span using LVL is 80 feet. It is normal for continuous LVL spans to be between 20'-30'.

T Beam's disadvantages: Because the beam slab is monolithic (rigid), its resistance to lateral shear forces becomes very weak. (cracks develops quickly). This is why T beams are used for high-rise buildings in earthquake-prone areas.

Wood beam size for 25-foot span: As a general rule, the size of a wood beam or lumber joint should be 2x16. This is 16' from the centre of any residential building, projects, or construction. The beam's depth is 400mm (16'), and beam width is either 50 mm or 2.

The failure of beams can be caused by either flexure, shear, or torsion when the failure modes exceed the design loads. The type of load that the beam can sustain and the time it reaches the factored load will determine if there is a chance of structural failure.
